About Webinar

The HASAL International Ecology Webinar is a three-day virtual event that brings together high school students from around the world to discuss, debate, and develop solutions for environmental challenges.

Organized by HASAL students, this webinar provides a space for young minds to engage with experts, collaborate in committees, and create impactful projects. Throughout the event, participants will:

  • Attend expert-led sessions

  • Join a committee-based ideathon

  • Work in teams to develop real-world solutions 

  • Present their projects to an academic panel

Connect with peers and enjoy an engaging experience while working on meaningful topics.

 

Structure and Procedure of Webinar

 

Expert Sessions & Discussions 

 

Participants will have the opportunity to attend keynote sessions led by distinguished experts in ecology and environmental science. These sessions will include lectures, Q&A segments, and interactive discussions on environmental challenges.

 

Committee-Based Ideathon 

 

Participants will be assigned to committees based on their applications and work together in an ideathon format. Each committee will focus on a specific environmental issue, analyzing real-world challenges and developing innovative solutions.

 

How Committees Will Work?


  • Each committee will be guided by an academic moderator from our team.

  • Committees will engage in structured debates, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative research to develop durable solutions to their assigned issue.

  • Participants will work in teams to design projects that address environmental problems from a scientific and policy perspective.

  • At the end of the webinar, each team will present their project proposal to an academic evaluation panel.

Interactive Kahoot Quiz 

Participants will take part in an interactive Kahoot quiz on environmental science. This friendly competition will test their knowledge while providing a fun and dynamic break from discussions.


Project Development & Evaluation


At the conclusion of the webinar, each team will submit a detailed summary of their project. Submissions will be evaluated by an academic panel based on the following criteria:

  • Scientific Validity – Does the project use well-researched data?

  • Feasibility – Can the proposed solution be realistically implemented?

  • Innovation – How creative and original is the approach?

  • Presentation & Clarity – Is the idea communicated effectively?

Detailed criteria and project format will be announced for the participants. 

 

Participation Guidelines


  • The official language of the webinar is English.

  • Webinar will take place in Zoom Meetings.

  • Professional and respectful discourse is expected at all times.

  • During expert sessions, participants should raise their hands or wait to be called upon before speaking.

  • In debates and discussions, participants may engage freely but must maintain a structured, moderated, and formal manner of discourse.

  • All participants must register in advance through the official website.

  • Webinar sessions may be recorded for academic and promotional purposes.
